Horrid. I think I saw that crane passing by after the race when they interviewed Newey with Gutierezs car, thinking to myself wow that's embarassing.. just dragging the car like that up in the air in front of the whole pit that slow, when you can use a truck. Terrible mistake.

RIP.

You can't have two DRS zones one after another. Epic battle ruined by FIA.

So yeah, Vettel/RedBull cries about Pirelli tire after what's about the most abrasive race of the year for tires only to pretty much lap majority of the grid now in Montreal with plenty of race still to go.

Thank God Pirelli is sticking with the tire that was introduced at the start of the year and that rules protect this from changing.

Silverstone is gonna be hell of a lot more interesting when Ferrari fights back.

P.S. This early braking by Merc might have been because of the tire saving after-all. Lift at 120, coast to 80 then brake instead of at 100. I heard Hamilton talking about that somewhere few days ago.

Bottas about the only driver ever to make it around the outside of T3 into T4 of Montreal's circuit in F1 car, twice even. Love the onboard shots with him.

Quote from tristancliffe :Hamilton doesn't HAVE emotions. He just says the team have done a great job. Even when he does get poles/wins he looks miserable. But as the most brain-dead F1 driver it's hardly a shock I admit.

Rubbish.

Quote from el pibe :****ing shit weather. its been raining on and off for the past 2 weeks. you get one day of heat so intense that 90% of the old ppl could die cause of it, and then for the next 4 days you have torrential rain.

Pretty much the same in Europe too.

Really looking forward to this GP. Always loved that place.

Wall of champions : fingers crossed for Vettel on lap 54.

There's no public link to a full race onboard as far as I know, racingfor.me if you've got an invite can only help you.

Tristan's reason? The tire saving? Mercedes does run 10C hotter tires then others as per say. Is it possible that F1's DF is so great it boils Mercedes' tires under normal heavy heavy braking... I noticed this in races ever since Malaysia. Very notable from onboards.

Quote from sinbad :How did you notice that they are consistently braking early? 15 metres is a lot in any car let alone an f1 car.

Barcelona mid sector big stop, T9? Monaco's chicane braking. 10 meters at least! Surely it will be visible in Canada hairpin/chicane.

Of course it cant be solved in here. It's not even what we're trying to do, it's just to give ourselves a little bit more insight and maybe learn something for ourselves. I highly doubt they're braking any earlier to protect tires, because you mostly use front tires with heavy braking and they're chewing the rear ones. It's really distinctive once you see an onboard and they're really missing a lot there. XRR brakes vs FZR brakes are a little bit like this, because of gearbox and their gearbox is different to some degree, maybe that could be an issue.

Is anyone got any idea what is going on with Mercedes' brakes, or the lack of them?

The car has brilliant traction, even surpassed the RedBull and Lotus in that area, especially where the tricky curbs are. This could lead to believe that lack of aerodynamic downforce might be causing Mercedes to have huge braking distances on big stops. We might also consider that they're running a too soft suspension which could be a factor to why they are cooking tires, though soft suspension is highly unlikely, as the slow corners traction would surely suffer. Or they simply have lousy brake supplier?

It really wonders me. Back in the Brawn days Button used to dive people like a granny would dive you in a shopping center with a cart for Christmas. I haven't really noticed their brakes being the weakest of top teams competition before this year, so were they or were they not? Really makes you wonder why are they braking good 15 meters earlier than others. Of course their engine is super powerful-still though that isn't even half the solution. Surely there must be solution to that, it means a couple of tenths a lap at least.

I want that Marsolus Tilke built track like Turkey in a 300hp touring car with slicks and then a 650hp S3 GTR.

All well done to Perez for giving it a shot. Kimi made his luck by forcing the issue, wouldn't be surprised if he even got penalized. No matter who's fault it is you don't put someone into an armco!

Sutil hero of the race for me. Beautifully judged passes and exactly knew when it was enough to allow luck to come his way. Great result there.

And Alonso, probably well managed race considering the position he was in. Those few points could come charming at the end of the year for him.

Quote from seniecka :Gonna be a procession race.

That might remind us how important all the tweaks to new age F1 are important.
On the other hand qualifying and pitstops will be exciting! And the city is pretty.

I've never encountered with hate posts towards Eric, nor I've ever seen him post anything on the forum. I only remember Scawen making the improved UFR interior and not sure if correct the interior mirror for road cars when all the interiors were being updated, a while ago.

It was simply said that the rest wasn't done or something of that sort and that FZR/FXR/RB4 and all the other that haven't been updated simply hadn't been updated yet. Now, what really boggles me is that this project of interior update for S2 is just left unfinished for years. It feels completely independent of many things. It feels as if it's not years of work. It feels it can be done if there is will, in a very reasonable period. And it looks sensable to be released before the S3 is released obviously.

However, combined with posts about Eric and his troubles with community to say the least about that situation simply makes you conclude that he is a very negative state of mind towards making anything positive for the same people who caused those negative feelings within himself. Combined this with supposed agreement that no content will be released before physics are updated and it's a stalled situation we have on car interior updates for years. We need to see that a few updates to interior models don't make much to improve sales of S2 and that this would simply be for the current S2 community. It feels very sad to say that we might have pushed him away from completing that project.

I can't apologize for people who might have caused this and just make it all better like that. Still, there should be a way to turn this around and finish at least this little part of project. I know you guys aren't making this for marketing, you never have and perhaps never will. On that note it's easy to see why there sometimes comes all the shitstorm from impatient people, because there simply isn't marketing and they have nothing to rely on other than their opinion as they're rarely familiar with what's really going on. It's quite obvious why there isn't things like development blog. You don't have a simple marketing strategy to start with, so why some people thing there could even be a blog about the whole thing is beyond reason.

I'm sure Eric you do want to feel that sense of accomplishment again and again and again. Surely, you're not working on this for money as your primary motive. You're the only one who can turn the things around for your part of the project. You don't have to like or hate the sort of attention that community gives you to enjoy your own thing. Just look deep down within yourself and you'll find your drive. If you need anything to confirm this just look at Kimi Raikkonen and the way he has handled situation such as that times and times over and over again to enjoy his own thing. Actions reach far wider distances than the words ever can do.
